A Zulu word, literally meaning "humanness," ubuntu is a social and spiritual philosophy serving as a framework for African society. Its essential meaning can be conveyed using the Zulu maxim "umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu," meaning, in essence, "a person is a person through other persons."

Harry Potter and the Empty Wallet

November 7, 2005

Oh-my-God.

Harry Potter IV’s premiere is already next week! Gosh! And I haven’t got enough money to buy two premiere tickets for Ton and myself. What they say is true: After you withdraw your salary from the bank, the strange process starts. It’ll be the life of a 1-day millionaire, 14-day debtor.

How ironic.

Anyway, PhP 200 wouldn’t be enough for a fantabulous cinema experience anymore these days. In the province, you could still watch two movies for seventy pesos, quite cheaper, but not quite the same experience. A great one would require some popcorn, probably hotdogs, and a pint (literally) of Coca-Cola. Add to that Dolby surround. Considering these, it just dawned on me that I have enough holes on my pocket already without Severus Snape casting Diffindo to it. But I just can’t give this premiere night up!

God, please help me.
